Matt, the founder of Ferrara Law, APC, is a tenacious trial attorney who has dedicated his life to fighting for others. He combines the spirit of a United States Marine with over a decade of high-stakes trial experience to deliver elite representation to the injured and/or accused. Matt is highly experienced and qualified in the areas of Criminal Defense and Personal Injury law.

Matt leverages his extensive Jury Trial experience in order to achieve optimal results for his clients.

Matt’s fighting spirit dates back to his early adulthood. Shortly after graduating from high school, Matt became a United States Marine and was deployed to Iraq. During deployment, Matt was involved with supporting democratic elections within the al Anbar Province; he gained a deep appreciation for American democracy and our system of government through this experience. Passion flows through Matt’s style of law practice and is a signature of the Ferrara Law brand.

After completing his military service, Matt went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University, graduating with Cum Laude honors.

Matt saw a career in law practice as a way to continue his passion for service. So in 2010, Matt enrolled into the Thomas Jefferson School of Law where he developed and sharpened his skills as an attorney. Matt spent time during law school providing legal representation to military veterans and was recognized with high-grade honors. Additionally, Matt spent multiple semesters representing accused citizens within the California Superior Courts; an experience which shaped his future as an advocate.

In 2016, Matt was hired by a large government law firm as a Trial Attorney. In this role, Matt protected thousands of clients, while achieving success in the most difficult, high-pressure cases. Matt has spent the last decade alongside clients, before juries, with charges ranging from DUI to First-Degree Murder; he has secured full acquittals on behalf of clients in multiple court houses. Regarding plea bargaining, Matt understands how to leverage his abilities in order to achieve optimal settlements for his clients, when appropriate. Ferrara Law is always prepared to take a case all the way through jury trial, where we are tested and proven.

In the Community

Matt gives back to the legal field by training and mentoring new attorneys as a certified instructor with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. Matt is a member of both the Criminal Defense Bar Association and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. Ferrara Law engages with non-profit organizations to provide support to youth and homeless veterans and delivers community training in order to teach citizens about their rights within the legal system.
